Ok. SO I've been a little unmotivation to update this here blog. I'm entertaining the idea of going all out and getting my own domain name and such.. but it will be more anonymous, I assure you. It's a little unnerving when you start noticing people finding you by googling "(your name) blog". Yeah. Not that I really put anything too incriminating into writing here, but what if I wanted to?
This will probably be a resolution type thing. To answer your question, things on the homefront are going. Just going. Not quite sure how they'll end up, because there are a few scenarios and at this point, it could really go with any of them.
I've been a knitting fool this winter... Just knitting up a storm, I tell you. Several people are getting a funky fun fur scarf as a gift. And a guy at work commissioned one as a gift for his wife. Very nice. I've just been in an all around craft-y mood lately. Strange, as I have had no motivation whatsoever to do anything else... including check my email.
.. Yet another New Year's resolution.
I have the 22nd thru the first off from work.. boy is that a relief. I need it.

Yesssterday was my birrrthday... On Friday, about fifteen of my work-friends met up after work at Winners for some drinks.. Then Saturday morning I got up early to attend the second half of a workshop for teachers of English as a Second Language. (I've been teaching a class of about 15 spanish speaking adults from six-thirty to eight pee em every wednesday...volunteer of course, but I'm having lots of fun with it. Who knew?) Then went shopping for stuff to wear to my birthday party thing... After about four hours of shopping and trying on everything, I settled on some low rise pinstriped J.Lo pants and a crisp white tailored man's dress shirt unbuttoned enough to make it interesting... (turns out that was also just enough to make it really interesting after about four Long Island Iced Teas... I hadda re-button it a few times after all the dancing..heh) It was dark... I'm suuuure nobody noticed. We started out at Last Supper Club and then to the Bohemian... Yay for fun. My feet still hurt.
Oh yeah... and I cut my hair. It's about a foot shorter now. eep.
My birthday is in 23 days. October fifth... (1980 ok?) A surprise party for yours truly is already in the works..(how do I know? Loose lips sink ships baby.) Yay. So tonight, for dinner, we headed over to Jimmy Mac's Roadhouse. The blackened ribeye is to die for. And then of course, there's the Roadhouse size Bud Light on tap. That's twenty five ounces thankyouverymuchmisswaitressladyI'llhaveanother. So thirty six ounces and a lil prompting later, here I am.
Where have I been since.. hell, practically last year..? Right fucking here. I been working. That's about it. Living weekend to weekend, paycheck to paycheck. Not that I've been miserable or poor. Work is good. Goddamn stressful at times. I've got more responsibility in this job than any job I've had to date... but I'm adapting. I'd go fucking nuts if I didn't. One girl I work with just couldn't adapt. Sweet girl but she couldn't not let the shit get to her. Crying every fucking day. Then she and her boyfriend break up and she's headin' back to Oh Kay to be with her family. Today was her last day. Like I said, she'll be missed. I forgot what my point was. Oh well.
I miss Texas dammit.
Time flies like a motherfucker when you're not paying attention. When all you look forward to is Friday and the weekend and then Monday rolls around again and you do it again. Next thing you know a month has gone by and you're saying to whoever's near, "What happened to May?" and "Wasn't it just July?" Now it's the middle of September and soon I'll be saying, "What happened to two thousand three?" How do you fight that?
By paying attention I suppose. By appreciating what's now instead of what's next. That's my goal and I suppose it'll be my New Year's resolution, since that's just around the corner anyway.

This is so fucking gross... The kitten has taken to eating my hair that she finds on the floor... which, if you follow the process, ends in coming out the other end. Except it doesn't end there. Since my hair is so long, we occasionally see her running from the bathroom with a turd chasing not far behind. Then she makes like a dog and does the scoot across the carpet. That's the part that's gettin to me. Skid marks on the light tan berber isn't gonna fly around here.

Ever have one of those days where your computer starts doing weird things so you restart and then it runs through this screen where it's determining that every single one of the files on your computer is a bad link so it deletes it? yeah. that was me about 4 days ago. Computer completely hosed. Yes, I have Norton AV which I update every other day or so... Norton didn't seem to think it was a virus when the hard drive was removed and scanned with a different computer that was completely updated with the most current virus definitions... noo.
All I know is that losing everything on my laptop that had been saved, gathered and ferreted away for a year SUCKS. ASS.
I have nothing else to say. Excuse me while I sulk.
